Just 5 simple ingredients:

Dried Marrowfat peas/ dried whole peas Bicarbonate of soda Salt Sugar Fresh mint leaves or dried mint or shop-bought mint sauce

Step 1 Soak the peas overnight in water with bicarbonate of soda mixed through...

Step 2

Drain and rinse the peas. Pop into a pan with salt, sugar and mint leaves...

Step 3

Simmer for 50-55 minutes until thick and mushy.  No blending or mashing required!

Step 4

Season with extra salt and chuck on a few extra mint leafs if liked.  Dish up the tastiness...
